8 days.  Maximum 3 guests.  We keep it private and personal.

Arriving and departing on Saturdays from Skukuza airport in Kruger National Park.

There are two daily flights from O.R. Thambo (Johannesburg) International Airport directly into Kruger National Park arriving in Skukuza.

On arrival you are met by Tread Lightly Tours & Safaris company owner, Will, or in the unlikely event he is pre-booked an alternative suitably qualified guide.

The airport is small and formalities are kept to a minimum.  From the time you land and disembark at Skukuza airport to the time you are sitting comfortably in your safari vehicle won't take more than 20 minutes!  Your photographic safari starts the moment you're on the vehicle.

As you will see from the flight schedules below, we collect and drop-off guests at two different times.  Guests arriving on the earlier flight can enjoy a few hours game viewing before we collect the final guest/s where we will head to camp and check-in before continuing our afternoon safari.

Important: -  Please advise us if you are a couple sharing accommodation, we can considerably reduce your safari cost.

Safari departure dates - choose you're preferred month

We always try to begin our day safari at sunrise when the camp gate opens as this gives guests the best possible opportunity to photograph in prime lighting conditions.

We specifically decided not to include any meals on these 8 day photographic safaris for a very good reason.
Unlike other safari companies, we prefer not to have predetermined breakfast and lunch breaks as this will influence how far we can travel and how long we can stay on good sightings.

As these safaris accommodate only three guests we prefer to make group decisions about when to stop for meal breaks.  However,Tread Lightly Tours & Safaris provide some light snacks while we are out of camp and we recommend guests purchase additional snacks from the facilities within camp (depending on where we stay).

During summer (October to March), temperatures frequently rise above 40° C between 11:00AM and 15:00PM, the light is over-head and it's not ideal light for photography.  During these hours we have two options; return to camp and take a break and a bite to eat or find an appropriate shady spot in the bush and wait it out until the temperature begins to drop.

Returning to camp has it's benefits.  Guests can relax and review or edit images taken earlier, take a nap in your air-conditioned, en-suite chalet or perhaps enjoy a swim (depending on which camp we are using).

We highly recomend spending some daylight time in camp, there are myriad oportunities to photograph some of the smaller, generally overlooked flora and forna.
